Axel has more than 25 years of experience as CEO, entrepreneur, M&A and McKinsey strategy consultant. In CEO positions he led various entrepreneurial companies with up to 400 Mio. EUR, belonging to family-held groups such as Bertelsmann as well as renown Private Equity firms. Axel has managed many successful M&A transactions as well as growth & transformation projects across industry sectors such as media, e-commerce, software, consumer goods and real estate. He leads our Consumer & Retail and Internet, Software & Technology groups and is also active across other industries. Axel has worked across Western and Eastern Europe and speaks five European languages. He is part of our Munich team.

Wolfgang established S&P in 1989 and ever since has managed or participated in more than 100 successful M&A deals across all industries. He is also one of the three initiators of the leading global network M&A Worldwide in 2004. Before establishing S&P, he held various CEO and Executive Board Member positions for international corporates and family-held companies in the steel and other basic industries. Wolfgang supports the S&P partner group with his invaluable experience in managing complex M&A deals across industries. He is also a personal advisor to various mid-sized companies, family offices and private equity firms. Wolfgang is a German native speaker with fluency in English and French and part of our Essen office.  

Christian has over 15 years experiences in various managerial positions in sales and marketing, mainly in family-held companies. He has managed complex projects and customer relations across industry sectors such as mechanical engineering, drive technology, renewable energy and basic industries such as metal, cement and paper. Christian co-heads our Engineering & Manufacturing team and works across various other industry sectors. He has worked for companies based in Germany, Finland, and China, operating on a global scale and navigating various cultural landscapes. Christian is a German native speaker with fluency in English and part of our Essen office.

Tilman has more than 35 years of experience in the banking, automotive and management consulting sectors. He began his career in International Sales and Marketing at the BMW Group, where he initially worked as Assistant to the Managing Director at BMW Motorsport and later took on various roles in international sales and marketing. For two Munich-based consulting firms, he worked on numerous transformation projects and in the investment sector (VC / PE). Over the past 15 years, Tilman has led numerous M&A transactions. As an expert in the automotive industry, he has served as interim CEO on several occasions. He is a trained banker (Dresdner Bank) and holds a degree in business administration from the University of Cologne. At S&P, he heads the Automotive & Mobility industry group and is a member of the Logistics and Health Care groups. He has international experience in the UK, USA, South Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Tilman speaks German, English and French.

Wolfgang is a seasoned partner with more than 30 years experiences in senior executive positions in major international corporations and as a CEO of family-held businesses with up to 200 Mio. EUR revenues. As an executive he has been responsible for various M&A transactions as well as the important integration processes. His mixed academic background in engineering and business administration helps him to take a 360-degree view on complex M&A situations. Wolfgang acts as a Head of our important Engineering & Manufacturing industry group. He is also very active in our service team with a specific focus on logistics. Wolfgang is a German native speaker with fluency in English and part of our Essen office.

Manfred is a seasoned partner with more than 30 years experiences in senior executive positions in major international corporations and as a CEO of family-held businesses with up to 300 Mio. EUR revenues. His breadth of experiences covers engineering, building material, basic and consumer goods industries. As an executive and M&A advisor Manfred managed numerous complex transactions, including a thorough preparation and implementation. He is an active member in various S&P industry groups: Engineering & Manufacturing and Construction. Manfred is a German native speaker with fluency in English and part of our Düsseldorf office.

Christian has more than 15 years of experience as CEO, COO and Head of Operations. He was responsible for internationally acting companies in mechanical engineering with a turnover between 150 mEUR to >7 bn EUR having worked for renown German groups with a family ownership background as Trumpf, Schmitz Cargobull, Bosch, ZF and VOSS. During his career he implemented various complex business concepts and strategies, including M&A transactions in multinational environments. Christian has developed to be an expert in all types of engineering industries, alternative energy sectors and innovative sustainable construction concepts. His mixed academic background in engineering and business administration at renown universities helps him to always take a 360-degree view on complex situations. He has worked and studied across Europe (RWTH Aachen, St. Gallen), the US (UC Berkely, UI Indianapolis), Southern America (UBA Buenos Aires) and Asia (Kitakyushu), speaks several languages and is part of our Düsseldorf team.

Christian has more than 35 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment management and M&A. The last 10 years, Christian led the M&A departments for market leading and family owned automotive and rail systems suppliers in the DACH region (Knorr-Bremse AG, Miba AG). During the prior 15 years, he acquired energy and environmental technology companies for a US private equity firm and was senior investment manager in a German venture capital fund. Before that, he held a senior position in the corporate development department of Deutsche Bank AG, was project leader at Bain & Co. in Munich and Zurich, and an investment manager and institutional sales executive for leading private banks in New York, Paris and Cologne. Immediately after graduation he completed a one year industry training program in Argentina. Christian graduated from LMU in Munich as Master in Business Administration and holds an MBA from IMD, Lausanne. Christian is part of the Munich office and head of the automotive and mobility group.

Tanja Benedic has more than 30 years of experience in strategic advisory, project development, and project management within the healthcare and social services sector, as well as in advising entrepreneurs and high-net-worth families on wealth structuring and investment strategies.

She was involved in establishing the real estate subsidiary of a financial institution serving the social sector and was responsible for the development of closed-end real estate funds.

Over the past 20 years, she has been successfully engaged in entrepreneurial activities in the healthcare market in various constellations and has specialized in the development of holistic concepts as well as the design of healthcare spaces for physicians and healthcare professionals.

In this capacity, she works closely with project developers, banks, investors, and physicians.

Tanja is fluent in German, English, and French and serves as a Senior Advisor as part of our Health Care team.

Stefan Halusa has more than 30 years of experience in defining and implementing corporate strategies, developing business in new markets and operating subsidiaries and joint ventures. With a focus on Asia, he spent 15 years in Japan, Korea and India; his responsibility included China and ASEAN. After more than 20 years in the automotive supplier industry, where he was instrumental to growing annual sales for his group to more than 1 billion €, he became Director General of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce in Mumbai. In this role he advised German and Indian companies and investors across various sectors with respect to market entry and growth in the respective target market. Stefan speaks German and English.

Matthias Puschnig has more than 30 years of experience as a consultant, CEO and entrepreneur in the IT industry and in the service of the federal government. He has held several management positions at medium-sized IT companies and has been involved in start-ups and related M&A cases.

At the Federal Ministry of Defence, he was primarily responsible for multinational military policy tasks in connection with NATO and the EU and is now a member of the management team of the Special Task Force Ukraine. He is our expert for the defence and IT industries. Matthias has worked in several countries in Europe and North America, including crisis areas, speaks English, French and Russian, and is based at our Munich office.

Klaus-Peter Regler brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in retail and real estate. His expertise covers the management, strategic positioning, and repositioning of numerous department stores. He is highly experienced in corporate structures through long-standing senior leadership roles, has led large teams, and managed a wide range of strategic initiatives, including refurbishments and expansion projects.

In addition, he has managed several shopping centers, successfully positioned them in competitive markets, and been responsible for attracting and sustainably establishing new tenants. His responsibilities also included overseeing marketing activities and coordinating external service providers.

Klaus-Peter Regler speaks German, English, and Spanish and is part of our S&P Team Consumer & Retail as well as Services.

He is based in our Bremen office.

Claudius has more than 25 years of experience as Entrepreneur, CEO and Consultant. In CEO positions he led one of the largest private universities of Germany as president and a media company and two entrepreneurial companies as CEO. Claudius has also management and consulting experiences at Procter&Gamble, Siemens and Bavaria Film Group. He has managed several successful M&A transactions projects. He is also an active start-up-investor and Business Angel in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich and Claudius is member of several supervisory boards. He is part of our Consumer & Retail and Internet, Software & Technology groups and is also active across other industries. Claudius has worked across Western and Eastern Europe and is part of our Munich team.

Before joining the S&P team, Laura worked as a Business Development Manager and Strategic Assistant to a divisional board member at Rhenus Logistics, one of Germany’s largest logistics companies. In this role, she led M&A and international business development projects. Laura holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from the University of Passau and a Master’s degree in Management from the renowned Otto Beisheim School of Management (WHU). Her master’s thesis focused on M&A advisory.

Laura is part of our team in Munich.

Sophia Steuernagel has gained relevant experience in mergers and acquisitions within the SME sector. Before joining S&P, she spent two years at Aurelius Wachstumskapital, an investment firm specialising in German-speaking SMEs.

In addition to her professional experience, Sophia completed her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on finance at the University of Passau and spent a semester abroad at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Furthermore, she holds a master’s degree from the renowned Otto Beisheim School of Management (WHU), with a master’s thesis on the M&A process in medium-sized companies.
